[ Abstract ]

The occurrence of head injury may cause autoregulatory disturbance of brain perfusion pressure. This research object to comparing the effect of giving hypertonic saline solution 3% with  manitol 20% solution and then evaluate consciousness, mean arterial pressure, blood sugar level, electrolyte level, lactate level, diuresis, and outcome in patients with moderate brain injury. This Research Method to study was an observational clinical trial of cohort studies. Conservative Moderate Head Injury (MHI) patients are divided into groups of manitol and HSS. Performed assessment of GCS, MAP, blood Glucose Level, electrolytes, lactate, diuresis and patient outcome. The data were processed by statistical analysis of independent t-test unpaired. Result of research finded From 42 samples, there was no significant difference in GCS dynamics and outcomes after administration of manitol and HSS. The dynamics of MAP in HSS group are more stable than manitol. The dynamics of blood glucose level inmanitol groupare more stable compared to HSS. Sodium and chloride increased in HSS compared to manitol. Potassium is lower in manitol than HSS. Lactate blood level is lower in HSS than manitol. Manitol diuresis effect is higher than HSS.

[ Abstrak ]

Terjadinya cedera kepala dapat menyebabkan gangguan autoregulasi tekanan perfusi otak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menilai dan membandingkan efek hipertonik salin solution 3 % dengan manitol 20% terhadap derajat kesadaran, tekanan arteri rerata, kadar gula darah, kadar elektrolit, diuresis, kadar laktat darah dan Outcome  pasien cedera otak sedang. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode uji klinis observational studi kohort. Pasien TCS konservatif terbagi dalam kelompok manitol dan HSS. Dilakukan penilaian GCS, MAP, GDS, elektrolit, laktat, diuresis dan outcome pasien. Data diolah dengan analisis statistik uji-t independent tidak berpasangan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan dari 42 sampel yang memenuhi kriteria, tidak terdapat perbedaan bermakna dinamika GCS dan outcome setelah pemberian manitol dan HSS. Dinamika MAP HSS lebih stabil dibanding manitol. Dinamika GDS manitol cenderung stabil dibanding HSS. Natrium dan chlorida meningkat pada HSS dibandingkan manitol. Kalium cenderung lebih rendah pada manitol dibanding HSS. Laktat darah lebih rendah pada HSS dibanding manitol. Efek diuresis manitol lebih tinggi dibanding HSS.
